We have investigated some recent trends appearing across the globe over the last couple of years and it seems Australia is at the forefront of the fitness industry as well!

Hip Hop Yoga

The Hip Hop Yoga concept that was founded in LA and recently brought to Melbourne by Sammy Veall from Yoga 213. Yoga 213 is Australia’s first Hip Hop Yoga studio which incorporates ‘music and yoga to create a fresh experience like no other’. Bend and stretch to the beats of Biggie, Jay Z and Snoop Dogg. Surf Set

Surf Set was founded in the US and the concept is popping up in gyms around the country. It has been introduced in Australia as a concept to train from home right now, however it looks like it won’t be too far off hitting our gym floors!

Surf Set uses a ‘total-body surf trainer, designed to simulate the physical demands of surfing without the ocean. Torch body fat, build lean muscle and get a ripped core with the signature surf-inspired workouts’.

There are a variety of classes that can be taken with this mechanical, ocean-less surf-board such as Balance which is yoga-inspired; Burn, a high-intensity, high-tempo class; Build which is focused on strength & definition; and Blend, an interval-based core session that combines it all.
